The Pirates have signed Josh Harrison to long-term contact.
Rob Biertempfel of the Trib list the breakdown as Harrison breakdown: 2015: $2.8M, 2016: $5M, 2017: $7.5M, 2018: $10M options 2019: $10.5M ($1M buyout), 2020: $11.5M ($500K buyout)
Harrison is 27 years old and will be 32 during the 2020 season so the Pirates control him through what are considered his prime seasons.
This is low risk deal as the Pirates only have to pay Harrison through 2018 with only a $1 M buyout in 2019.
Harrison hit .315 with 13 HR and 52 RBI last season.
