Bobby Vee’;s first big hit was in 1960 and his last was in 1967. In those 7 years he had 6 top 10 hits , 4top 20 hits, and 3 top 40 hits. Vee’s career started in 1959 when Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and the Big Bopper were killed flying from Clear Lake, Iowa to Morehead, Minnesota. A call went out for local bands to fill for Holly’s band. Vee lived in Fargo, North Dakota ( Fargo and Morehead are very close together). Vee got together a group and they were a success. Vee had his first top 10 hit the next year.
