My Girl Otis Redding

Nicknamed the "King of Soul", Otis Redding was one of several popular artists or the 50s and 60s who died in plane crash while touring. The Bee Gees wrote "To Love Somebody" for Redding and he was going to record it after what turned out to be his last tour. Between 1962 and 1967 he had a number of songs on the charts. His biggest hit was posthumous. Redding was only 26 when private plane he was on crashed into Lake Monona near Madison, Wisconsin on December 10, 1967. Redding continued to have songs on the charts through 1971.
