Mary Weiss. Lead singer of The Shangri Las, died on January 19, 2024, at age 75. They had 11 songs on the charts from 1964 through 1966, including a number 1. The original group was Mary Weiss, her sister Betty, and the two Ganser twins. They were cited as an influence by the New York Dolls, Ramones and Blondie.
