Gerry and The Pacemakers came from Liverpool and were managed by Brian Epstein who also managed the Beatles. Their first 3 singles went Number 1 in England. They also had 7 top 40 hits in the US. The group disbanded in 1966 Gerry Marsden continued to perform until his death in 2021 at age 78.
