Chuck Berry was a pioneer of Rock and Roll< Born in St Louis in 1926.  He started performing with groups in the early 1950s.  In 1955 he traveled to Chicago where he met Muddy Waters,  Waters introduced him to Leonard Chess of Chess Records.   There he recorded Maybellene and the hits came coming into the 1970s  Many of the songs Berry wrote and recorded became hits for other artists .
